Model Lipid Membranes

Our research focuses on uncovering the structural and physicochemical properties of simple and complex model membrane systems. Key areas of investigation include:

Myelin Architecture: Investigating the physicochemical and structural features of myelin-like lipid systems.

 

Membrane–Peptide Interactions: Reconstructing the molecular mechanisms governing the interactions of Cell-Penetrating Peptides (CPPs) with model eukaryotic and prokaryotic membranes.

 

Antimicrobial Peptides (AMPs): Examining the interactions of anoplin and its derivatives with model membranes designed to mimic Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

 

Asymmetric Membranes: Constructing and characterizing asymmetric lipid bilayers to better replicate the native functional asymmetry of biological membranes.
